We are deeply saddened by the events in the Philippines. Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) devastated islands in the central Philippines, survivors are desperate for food and supplies and clamoring to be evacuated.

Red Cross gives 100% of its donations earmarked for the Philippines disaster relief, directly to the disaster relief efforts in the Philippines. Please consider making a donation via Facebook; you’ll find the “Donate $10.00” at the top of your Facebook page through this Friday, November 15. Or visit http://www.redcross.org/. Thank you!

Side note: Our colleague Tina is Filipino, and she says her country begins the exciting countdown to Christmas earlier than any other country in the world… in September. By then, the typhoon season will have passed, skies are clear and sunny again, and food and festivities abound everywhere. It’s a testament to the Filipino’s faith, resiliency and hope for a better tomorrow.
