Childrens-garden

In collaboration with Evanston design firm Teska and Associates, Nature’s Perspective crafted a solution for a young Wilmette family who desired a beautiful space for themselves and their children, a setting that could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The existing small deck and the plain concrete patio were functional, but uninviting.

The spacious new deck with stained cedar posts, maintenance-free Trex decking and integrated lighting provides an elegant area for dining and entertaining day or night. At ground level, new features include a paved trike raceway; a rustic boulder fountain feature for water play; a dry creek bed and tunnel for adventure play; a naturalized sand pit area; boulders for climbing; three raised planters that also double as seatwalls; naturalized plantings; a lounging area for grown-ups to relax while keeping watch on the kids; and stained cedar trellises to softly screen two AC units.

The new outdoor environs are playful and sophisticated, and make staying at home delightful.
