The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a two-day event presented annually by the Evanston Environmental Association (EEA) and the city of Evanston.  Different movies are shown on the two dates of the festival.  This is the festival’s ninth year.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is organized and produced by SYRCL (the South Yuba River Citizens League), and was started in part to help environmental organizations like the EEA grow their membership.

The festival offers a line-up of the best in environmental and adventure short films covering a variety of topics relevant to those concerned about the future of our planet. Check out this year’s list of 19 films.

Location

One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Avenue, Third Floor Theater, Evanston. Parking is available in the One Rotary Center parking garage, street parking and in parking garages within two blocks at 821 Davis St. and 1501 Sherman Ave. (Holiday Inn lower level).

General admission tickets for the film festival are $12. EEA Individual members pay $7 for themselves (a $5 discount) and $12 for guest tickets. About the Wild & Scenic Film Festival

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is the largest annual fundraiser for the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL). The 5-day flagship festival is held in annually January in Nevada City and Grass Valley, California, and features over 100+ films, workshops, visiting filmmaker and activist talks, family-friendly programs, art exhibitions, parties, and more.

Afterwards, the festival goes on tour, partnering with groups who are working to protect and restore the important places in their communities. Globally, Wild & Scenic On Tour generates critical funds and increases awareness for grassroots environmental causes. Check out their website.
