Is Hiring a Landscape Designer Worth It?

Hiring a landscape designer is often a worthwhile investment that saves time, reduces costly mistakes, and delivers a more cohesive and functional outdoor space. Designers assess key factors like layout, drainage, sun exposure, and soil conditions to create a customized, sustainable plan tailored to your property. They help translate ideas into a clear vision, ensure proper plant and material selection, and keep projects aligned with budget and long-term goals. With a blend of creativity and technical expertise, professional design enhances property value and creates an intentional, lasting landscape that evolves beautifully over time.

Project Spotlight: Don’t Redo, Renew!

This backyard renovation transformed a Chicago area home’s confined, multi-level patio into a more open, functional, and family-friendly space. By reusing existing Unilock Brussels Block materials and expanding the patio toward the garage, the design created a larger, level area for entertaining while improving access to the lawn. Contrasting Ledgestone coping and steps highlight elevation changes, while added planting beds and vine-covered lattice soften the home’s exterior and introduce year-round visual interest. A connecting walkway enhances accessibility, and a low-maintenance white fiberglass pergola serves as the centerpiece, providing shade and a comfortable space for relaxation.
